The SCAD in Women Deep Dive course is composed of three modules.

The course will answer the following questions.

  • What is SCAD and what are the risk factors?

  • How do we manage SCAD acutely and then after the event?

  • How do we talk with patients about recurrent SCAD and uncertainty?

  • What are the support and information needs of SCAD survivors?

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Recognise and Identify

    Recognise the key differences in SCAD presentation, pathophysiology and management to that of traditional atherosclerotic acute coronary syndromes

  • Counsel women compassionately

    Be able to have informed and honest conversations with women about SCAD and future risks.

  • Understand needs

    Understand and have the resources to support SCAD survivors during and after their acute event

    If you have completed the Women's Heart Health Upskilling course, the content of the SCAD in Women Deep Dive is presented in the ACS module along with Takotsubo cardiomyopathy and Microvascular Dysfunction in Women. You should not enrol in the SCAD in Women Deep Dive.
